This week we are only have class on Monday at 5:30p.m.. I will be out of town the rest of this week! So make sure you come tomorrow...We will be doing a jump rope cardio workout!
I read an article the other day about high intensity interval training (HIIT) and wanted to share. HIIT is where you alternate between an intense exercise followed by rest or a low intensity exercise. For example Sprint for 30 seconds then walk for 60 second.
Research is finding that this type of training has so many benefits such as: it burns more fat and calories due to the afterburn effect, increases aerobic capacity-the bodies ability to use oxygen. Increases lactate threshold- your body is able to handle more lactic acid build up in your muscles, which helps with soreness. Improved insulin sensitivity- helps the muscles use glucose for fuel to make energy. Improves aerobic and anaerobic fitness, improves blood pressure, improves abdominal fat and body weight while still maintaining muscle mass.
Any ways I thought it was interesting!
Have a great week!
